Man knocks bottle over pedestrian’s head

A 50-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday after he reportedly smashed a bottle over someone’s head in the Tenderloin, according to police.

The incident took place at around 3:30 a.m. when the victim, a 44-year-old man, was walking down Leavenworth Street near Eddy Street, and received a blow to his head, falling to the ground, police said.

Officers were near the scene overheard the incident and took the suspect into custody.
