A man killed in a shooting in San Francisco's Portola neighborhood on Tuesday morning has been identified by the medical examiner's office as 35-year-old Kyle Hayes.

The shooting was reported at 10:44 a.m. near Burrows and Holyoke streets.

Hayes, a San Francisco resident, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The shooting prompted the lockdown of nearby E.R. Taylor Elementary School as a precaution, school officials said.
