Man injured in stabbing in the Mission on Valentine's Day

A man was injured in a Valentine's Day stabbing in the Mission district, police said.

The 33-year-old victim was approached by a man who appeared to be in his 20s in the 500 block of Valencia Street about 2:40 a.m. who simply said “Norte” before stabbing the victim several times in the chest and stomach, police said.

The victim was hospitalized with what were originally thought to be life-threatening injuries, but he is now in stable condition, Officer Grace Gatpandan said.

There was little information available Tuesday and no arrest was reported.
