Man dies from stabbing in Mission district

A 23-year-old man died at the hospital this morning after being stabbed several times in the Mission District, according to police.

Officers found the man near Cesar Chavez and Folsom streets around 12:30 a.m. A group of about five men had reportedly dispersed from the area shortly before officers arrived, according to a police report.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he died around 1:15 a.m.

The identification has not yet been released because the Medical Examiner is waiting to notify his next of kin.

No suspects were arrested.
