Man critically injured in shooting on Howard Street

A man was critically injured in a shooting in downtown San Francisco area early Monday morning, police said.

Officers responded to the scene in the 500 block of Howard Street about 1:50 a.m. and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.

He was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition. There was no further information Monday morning.
