Man critically injured in possible hammer attack

A man was critically injured in an attack in the Mission on Sunday with what police said might have been a hammer.

The 50-year-old victim was found bleeding from the head at 24th and Valencia streets about 1:30 p.m. and was reportedly uncooperative with police.

He sustained a laceration to his eyebrow and a puncture wound to his back and chest, police said.

No suspects have been identified.
