Man attacked with bottle in downtown San Francisco

A man was struck in the face with a glass bottle for no apparent reason in downtown San Francisco on Monday, cops said.

The 44-year-old victim was walking along the area of Market and Sansome streets around 11 p.m. when two men in their 20s approached and hit him in the face with the bottle, police said. The victim fell to the ground and the two cowardly thugs fled on foot.

The victim was treated at the hospital for in his injuries, which were not life threatening, police said.
