Ice, fog reported on 280 on Peninsula

The California Highway Patrol has issued a weather advisory for motorists traveling on Interstate Highway 280 in San Mateo County Wednesday morning.

Black ice and low visibility due to fog have been reported on portions of Highway 280 from state Highway 92 in San Mateo to Larkspur Drive in Burlingame, CHP Officer John Short said.

The traffic advisory was first issued at 2:15 a.m.

Motorists using Highway 280 are advised to reduce speeds and leave plenty of space between vehicles on the roadway, as visibility in some places has been reported at less that 10 feet, Short said.
