Hwy. 13 wreck blocks traffic

A solo-vehicle crash on Highway 13 just north of Interstate 580 in Oakland forced the closure of two southbound lanes Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A vehicle crashed around 6:40 a.m. and left the No. 1 and No. 2 southbound lanes blocked on the highway, said CHP Officer A. Paulson. One person was trapped and had to be extracted from the wreck, Paulson said.

A Sig-alert was issued at 7:13 a.m.
