Supervisor Chris Daly — Mayor Gavin Newsom’s most outspoken critic on the Board of Supervisors — asked the city controller Tuesday to investigate whether any city funds were used to pay for a so-called life coach for Newsom. Newsom’s spokesman Nathan Ballard called the inquiry “pointless.”
Daly is never shy in needling Newsom and certainly attempts to force the Mayor’s Office to provide explanations for Newsom’s actions.
Newsom reportedly consulted with someone described as a “life coach” or “corporate facilitator,” who may also have joined Newsom on his abrupt and mysterious flight to Hawaii.
“This is a pointless inquiry,” Ballard said, “and I am refusing to comment any further.”
