U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is in The City tonight to speak at a dinner event hosted by Muslim Advocates, a San Francisco-based group that has been critical of the FBI’s surveillance of Bay Area Muslims.
The line between racial or religious profiling and preventing a terrorist attack has grown increasingly thin with San Francisco police as well since the arrival of police Chief George Gascón.
His efforts to bring back intelligence gathering to the department were met with opposition by The City’s Human Rights Commission, and then there’s his gaffe at a private luncheon that angered the Middle Eastern community.
