Harris, Cooley square off today in lunchtime debate

It’s not exactly prime time, but if you want to see District Attorney Kamala Harris face off against Los Angeles District Attorney Steve Cooley in the race for state attorney general, today may be your only chance.

The only debate scheduled so far between San Francisco’s innovative top prosecutor and the tough-on-crime DA from L.A. takes place at noon today at UC Davis.

The debate — which should venture into hot topics such as illegal immigration, the corruption of public officials and the death penalty — is being webcast here.
