Ghirardelli Square holiday tree lighting Friday

The holiday tree will be lit during a ceremony beginning 5:30 p.m Friday at Ghirardelli Square. Free music will be provided throughout the day, and kids can visit Santa Claus. Musical performers include the Contra Costa Chorale, Andy Kong, The Merrie Olde Carolers and the San Francisco City Chorus.

Officials ask that visitors arrive early, as last year’s event was very packed. For more information, visit www.ghirardellisq.com.
