Firefighters battle grass fire off Bayshore

A small brush fire broke out late Thursday afternoon on a hill off Bayshore Boulevard near the Highway 101 Alemany Boulevard exit.

Firefighters battled the 2-alarm blaze behind the Kelly-Moore Paints store at 701 Bayshore Boulevard around 4 p.m., according to the San Francisco Fire Department. The fire spread from a grassy hill to the back of the building, but none of the paint in the store or any toxic materials were affected.

The fire was under control at 4:43 p.m. and firefighters began to leave the scene.

What caused the blaze has yet to be determined.
