Fatality on tracks delays ACE train

Altamont Commuter Express Rail train No. 1 is about an hour behind schedule this morning after a Union Pacific Freight train fatally struck a pedestrian near Pleasanton, according to officials.

The pedestrian was struck around 4:10 a.m., officials said.

ACE train No. 1 is delayed by about an hour, but trains No. 3 and No. 5 are expected to remain on schedule, officials said.

The ACE train is a commuter train that runs between Stockton and San Jose.
