Fatal collision closes Bay Bridge for three hours

All lanes on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge are open this morning after a fatal collision blocked the entire eastbound side for about three hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A black, 1998 Dodge Dakota and a silver, 1994 Honda Prelude reportedly collided right after midnight at Treasure Island on the eastbound side.

Drivers sat through major congestion because all four lanes were closed except for minimal use of the fast lane until just after 3 a.m., CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano said.

Caggiano said one other person reported a minor injury.
