Embarcadero Center to turn on lights Friday night

The five-block commercial district near the waterfront will flip on its holiday lights Friday during its 24th annual ceremony.

The office towers above the holiday ice rink will be illuminated with 17,000 lights.

The winter carnival will kick off the event at 4 p.m.

Starting at 6 p.m., skating, “Disney on Ice” and live music will provide the backdrop to the lighting before the grand-finale fireworks show.
