A 75-year-old woman was struck by a “contractor-type” flatbed truck Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Cortland Avenue and Ellsworth Street in the Bernal Heights neighborhood, according to police.
The woman, a San Francisco resident, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, said Officer Giselle Linnane, a San Francisco police department spokesperson.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, Linnane said.
Avoid the area of Cortland and Ellsworth due to a collision investigation. Both directions of Cortland are closed, affecting the 24 Divisadero @sfmta_muni bus.
