Ed Jew's lawyer sets trial date

Former Supervisor Ed Jew ’s attorney appeared in San Francisco Superior Court on Monday to work on a deal in Jew’s local case. Jew is slated to stand trial starting Nov. 10 on federal public-corruption charges, but he’ll have at least two more chances to work with prosecutors before the trial begins — Oct. 21 in Superior Court and Oct. 28 in federal court. Jew resigned from office in January.
