Alma Park was one of 102 mathematics and science teachers nationwide to receive the annual Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching this year. Park is a sixth-grade educator at Eastside College Preparatory School, a private school where she has worked since 2005.

Winners receive a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation to be used at their discretion and are invited to attend an awards ceremony and other events in Washington, D.C.
