Dufty moves to rename plaza for fallen officer

The 17th Street pedestrian plaza in the Castro district would be renamed for Jane Warner, the Patrol Special Police officer who died in May of ovarian cancer, under a resolution from Supervisor Bevan Dufty set to be heard by the board Tuesday. Warner began her career in the Castro in 1993 and became president of the Patrol Special Police Officers Association in 2005.
