Driver killed in Half Moon Bay crash identified as 23-year-old San Mateo man

A man killed in a rollover crash on state Highway 1 in Half Moon Bay early Tuesday morning has been identified as 23-year-old Omar Cervantescruz of San Mateo, according to the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office.

Cervantescruz was the driver of a white 1998 Nissan four-door sedan that was involved in the solo-vehicle crash around 12:40 a.m. on Highway 1 near Spindrift Way.

Cervantescruz was ejected from the car in the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His front-seat passenger, also a 23-year-old San Mateo man, was hospitalized, San Mateo County sheriff’s Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said.Bay Area NewsHalf Moon BayHighway 1PeninsulaSan Mateo County Coroner's Office
