A driver hospitalized with head injuries after a solo-vehicle crash near Devil’s Slide on Saturday night was arrested early Sunday morning on charges that he was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.
The accident took place shortly before 9 p.m. when the driver, whose name was not released Sunday, slammed his Chevy Impala into a utility pole on Highway 1 just north of Second Street in Montara.
The driver was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with major head injuries, while his two passengers were treated for minor injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.
