Doyle Drive weight restrictions discussed

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency could amend The City’s transportation code to allow school buses on Doyle Drive, despite weight restrictions on the span while it is being rebuilt.

While the southern expanse to the Golden Gate Bridge gets rebuilt, vehicles weighing more than three tons or seating more than nine people are prohibited from driving on the thoroughfare.

At its meeting on Jan. 4, the SFMTA’s Board of Directors could vote to exempt school buses from those restrictions. If approved, the exemptions would last until Sept. 30, 2011.
