Don’t play hooky on the DA

Don’t skip out on what District Attorney Kamala Harris has to say Friday because she might prosecute you.

Following years of Harris’ attempts to slim down the city’s and state’s truancy rates, she will make an announcement with school officials tomorrow about an expanded plan of attack.

Officials with the school district and with her office today were still crunching numbers on current truancy rates for the 11 a.m. announcement.

But if you ask The City’s Civil Grand Jury, it hasn’t been looking too good.
