Del Martin to be honored at City Hall

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Mayor Gavin Newsom are among scheduled speakers at a civic celebration in honor of Del Martin, one of the nation’s first and most visible lesbian activists, Martin, 87, passed away on Aug. 27 in San Francisco; her memorial will take place at City Hall, where she and Phyllis Lyon were the first couple married earlier this year after the California Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage.Bay Area NewsCity HallGavin NewsomLocal
