Criminal crew bags man’s bag in Portola

A 71-year-old man was punched by thugs who stole his luggage in the Portola district Sunday morning, police said.

About 7:10 a.m., the victim reportedly exited a bus in the 1000 block of Silver Avenue and was standing under the eave of a building to avoid the rain. Three men crossed the street and approached him, police said.

One of the men pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his bag, police said. A second man punched him and the third grabbed the luggage. The suspects then fled.
