County controller goes over budget deficit

Tom Huening, the San Mateo County controller, released his annual Financial Highlights report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2010. Huening says the county’s budget deficit, currently estimated at between $110 million and $150 million, would be roughly $106 million per year larger under new government accounting guidelines for pension obligations.
