Police are still trying to identify a suspect in the mysterious shooting death of resident Jeffrey Henderson, 49, at the Broadway Towers apartments at 1107 Second Ave. last Thursday night.
“Our investigation has not focused on any one person [as the suspect],” Redwood City Police Sgt. Eric Stasiak said. “We are eliminating possible people so we know how to focus our investigation.
Stasiak would not say whether they have ruled out Henderson’s wife as a suspect. She discovered Henderson’s body shortly before midnight July 6 when she arrived at her apartment, according to Russ Barr, senior vice president for Matteson Properties, which owns the building.
Henderson’s last known address is on McKinley Avenue, near Red Morton Park, according to voter records. It appears that he and his wife were separated, according to Stasiak.
The death was initially reported as a suicide, but investigators are treating it as a homicide because no weapon was found at the scene, Stasiak said. Although police have canvassed the building and neighborhood for leads, nobody has come forth with information on the shooting.
Barr sent a notice to tenants early this week informing them about the shooting and urging them not to allow strangers into the building.
