On Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors will vote on legislation introduced by Supervisor Eric Mar that would create a so-called Energy Efficiency Steering Committee. The said purpose of the committee is to “advise the Board of Supervisors on planning and decision-making regarding energy efficiency projects.”
Among its duties would be to “create and maintain a high-level discussion between the community and The City on the spending and allocation of energy efficiency funds” and advise the board on energy efficiency projects. The recommendations are supposed to be guided by some core principles such as prioritizing low-income communities and local job creation.
