Child injured in Bayview traffic accident

A 12-year-old child was injured in a traffic accident in San Francisco’s Bayview district Sunday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded to reports of a vehicle accident at Third Street and Gilman Avenue about 1 p.m., according to police Sgt. Danielle Newman.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for multiple injuries, police said.

An investigation of the incident is underway, Newman said.
