Caltrain offers free rides

Free rides on Caltrain will be offered after 11 p.m. today, the agency said. Caltrain will also be adding four southbound trains after midnight that will leave The City at 12:45 a.m., 1:15 a.m., 1:45 a.m. and 2:15 a.m., making local weekday stops to the San Jose Diridon station, a spokeswoman said. Caltrain will run a Sunday schedule on New Year’s Day. Open alcohol containers are not allowed on trains after 9 p.m.
