Breakfast interrupted

A thug attacked a man who was eating breakfast on his front steps in the 1900 block of San Jose on Tuesday, police said.

The assailant drove by in a car, stopped, backed up and jumped out. The man, described as Hispanic and in his 40s, began accusing the stunned muncher of owing him money, police said.

The impromptu “bill collector” charged and cut the victim’s wrist before hopping back in his car and fleeing, police said. The suspect was said to be wearing a red long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans, and was driving a late 1980s light blue 4-door sedan, police said.

The victim told police he had never seen the punk before. He went to the hospital for treatment, they said.
