Blanket-tossing brute fleeces young woman in robbery

A thug threw a blanket over a 23-year-old woman’s head in order to steal her purse early Thursday in South of Market, police said.

About 1:40 a.m., police said, the man reportedly punched the woman multiple times after covering her head with the blanket in the 100 block of Bluxome Street, a narrow alleyway that runs parallel to Brannan Street.

The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said, but she lost her purse, wallet, MP3 player and personal documents.
