Blanche wants some friends for Christmas

Why: It has been a tough year for Blanche, who lived at the Palace of Fine Arts — her mother, Friday, went missing in April, and her brother, Monday, was found dead in November. Now the 13-year-old swan is housed at the San Francisco Zoo for her own safety, but a new friend is needed for her protection so she can return home.
