Bike program managers to be picked

In December, the Recreation and Park Department will consider choosing one of three bike concierge managers to expand a rental program in The City’s parks.

A staff analyses indicated there are several hot spots for bike concessioners in The City’s open space, so Rec and Park started asking for proposals.

Right now, the amenity is only at the Marina Green and at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park. On top of expanding the program, the concessioner has also been asked to consider a bike share program in Golden Gate Park.

Rec and Park will create a panel next month to consider the three management proposals it received.

Staff next month will also consider a single proposal to operate a restaurant in Millwrights Cottage.
