One person was injured when a eucalyptus tree fell onto a Castro Valley home Saturday afternoon.
Alameda County Fire Department units were called just before 3:55 p.m. to a home located on Sandy Road to rescue a person who became trapped after a tree fell on the residence, according to a department statement.
At 3:53PM, ACFD responded to an EMS call that was upgraded to a rescue due to a large eucalyptus tree that fell on a home on Sandy Rd in Castro Valley. Emergency responders managed to remove the person from inside the home and they were taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The injured adult, as well as one other adult and four children, were also displaced from the home due to the damage caused by the tree, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.
