Bad time for robbery

A brute pistol-whipped and robbed a woman Monday after asking her for the time, police said.

Around 6 p.m., a 23-year-old black man snuck up behind the 19-year-old victim in the 300 block of Howth Street, cops said.

After asking her for the time, the suspect grabbed her by the hair and pistol whipped her before taking her purse, money, watch and cell phone, police said.

The woman had non-life-threatening injuries and the crook got away, cops said.
