Attention shoppers, trash goes in the garbage bin

A crazed man assaulted a female shopper who threw out a piece of garbage that he had chucked into her cart at the Mission Street Safeway on Monday, police said.

The victim told cops she was unloading her groceries around 6 p.m. when a Hispanic man between ages 48 and 52 threw trash into her shopping cart, police said.

He became enraged when she removed the garbage from her cart, hitting and kicking her while cursing, cops said. Police are hunting the suspect.

He stood about 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighed around 180 pounds and was wearing a red hoodie, the victim told police.
