Arrested: Roberto Cruz Recendes

The 40-year-old man was extradited to the United States and placed under arrest for the 2002 beating and rape of a 94-year-old woman in a Palo Alto assisted living center, Palo Alto police announced Friday. Evidence allegedly links the crime to Recendes, who was living in Palo Alto at the time of the crime but had since fled to Mexico, Agent Dan Ryan said. Mexican law enforcement officials detained him and Recendes was extradited to Los Angeles.Bay Area NewsCrimeCrime & Courts
