An “armed and dangerous” parolee is still on the loose but may be wounded after a Sunday afternoon confrontation with police. San Francisco police confirmed that the parolee, whose name and crime history is so far being withheld, was still on the lam despite the discovery of blood in the man's car after a police shootout.
At roughly 4:30 p.m. Sunday, police officers recognized the wanted parolee at 23rd Avenue and Pacheco Street in the Sunset District. As officers approached the man he sped toward them in his vehicle. The officers fired several shots in his direction and pursued the suspect.
They later found the car near the 100 block of Caine Avenue in the Oceanview neighborhood. In it police found blood and other signals the wanted parolee had been shot.
