Another holiday list: Public office hours

Here is your roundup of what will be open and closed this week:

Almost all city, county, state and federal offices will be closed Friday for Christmas, but they will be — at least theoretically — open and staffed on Thursday for Christmas Eve.

The post office will continue delivery through Christmas Eve, but many of its offices will close at noon Christmas Eve. The City’s libraries will close at 5 p.m. Christmas Eve as well.

And as anyone who has ever tried to get in touch with city or state employees on Christmas Eve knows, you can bet most other offices will be fairly sparsely staffed that day as well.
