Alleged panty bandit strikes Union Square Victoria’s Secret again

The panty bandit is back.

The man arrested in February for allegedly trying to steal panties on three different occasions has struck again, Central Station Capt. Garret Tom said Tuesday.

Anthony Robinson, 55, also known to police as the “underwear burglar,” has gone back to the Victoria's Secret Pink store in Union Square at least four more times since his release from jail, Tom said.

He is alleged to have been in the store April 25, April 29 and May 12 to steal underwear, Tom said. On May 20, he entered the store about 3:30 p.m. and reportedly grabbed 19 pairs of undergarments — 15 bras and four panties valued at $444.24.

Robinson is alleged to have concealed the pilfered panties under his own clothing before attempting to leave the store.

He was detained by security until police arrived and booked on multiple counts of burglary.
