A mother recounts her daughter's battle with anorexia

Sheila Himmel, the Palo Alto author and former restaurant critic, will speak about her new book, “Hungry: a Mother and Daughter Fight Anorexia” at the Burlingame Public Library on Tuesday. The free event, at 480 Primrose Road, begins at 7 p.m. The newly released memoir recounts the battle her teenage daughter Lisa had with anorexia and bulimia, which at times became life threatening.
