Talk about being asleep at the wheel.
A woman was waiting for a red light at Battery and California streets around 7:30 p.m. Friday when her car was rear-ended, police said.
A cop responding to the crash scene noticed the driver who caused the accident was slumped over his steering wheel, passed out, police said. The officer said the engine was still running and the car in drive, police said.
The cop could smell a strong odor of alcohol, police said. The woman was uninjured. The sleepy driver responsible for the wreck was arrested for drunken driving, police said.
