Wells Fargo donates to local food banks

San Francisco-based Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC) has donated a total of $50,000 to five Bay Area food banks this week.

San Francisco Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, Alameda County Community Food Bank, Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano and Marin Community Food Bank will each receive $10,000.

The food banks are reporting a shortage of donations so far this year, company and nonprofit officials said.
