Virgin launches LAX to JFK

Burlingame-based Virgin America is launching twice-daily service today between John F. Kennedy Airport in New York and Los Angeles International Airport. LAX officials will hold a ribbon cutting and breakfast reception with Virgin Group founder and Chairman Sir Richard Branson and Virgin American CFO Bob Dana, and CEO Fred Reid will greet guests in New York before they are taken to a Hollywood to Broadway launch party in Manhattan. Virgin started service from San Francisco International Airport Aug. 8.
