The two ads are consistent with the trend this cycle. The only effective Democratic ads are the ones that personally attack candidates. The Republicans have the liberty of campaigning on issues. Certainly, both are fair game, but it illustrates the problem Democrats face. What if their opponent doesn’t have a messy divorce or a police record?
