Retailers that have banned sales of the Confederate flag

Big retailers said they would start to pull Confederate flags, and merchandise bearing the flag, from their store shelves and websites this week. The announcements come as debate over the flag’s symbolism was reignited following last week’s shooting deaths of nine black church members in South Carolina.

These retailers have announced bans of the flag and related items:

— Etsy Inc.

On Sunday, California bore the brunt of what meteorologists referred to as a bomb cyclone and an atmospheric river, a convergence of storms that brought more than half a foot of rain to parts of the Bay Area, along with high winds, concerns about flash floods and the potential for heavy snow in the Sierra Nevada.
