Obama’s crack-up: Fewer independents approve of him than ever before

Gallup’s new poll contains a key piece of bad news for President Obama. Amid high unemployment and the oil spill, and in the wake of Obamacare, independent voters now give him a 38 percent approval rating. That’s the first time this number has ever fallen below 40 percent in a Gallup poll.

Recall that Obama once comforted congressional Democrats by telling them, “Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.” This is not good news for them.
